Winning Organizations of the Local Initiatives Grant Competition in Zhytomyr Announced

The Expert Council has determined the winners of the local initiatives grant competition. A total of 15 project applications were received from public and charitable organizations operating within the Zhytomyr community.
The submitted initiatives cover various fields: support for children and youth, psychosocial assistance, development of public spaces, educational and cultural programs, mental health and healthy lifestyle initiatives, as well as projects aimed at strengthening social cohesion within the community.
Selection Criteria
The Expert Council evaluated the projects based on:

Relevance of the issue to the community.

Alignment with the competition’s goals and priorities.

Effectiveness and realism of the planned activities.

Budget justification.
Winning Projects
Based on the expert evaluation, the highest-rated projects are:

“Alley on Lesia” – NGO “Zhytomyr Enthusiasts”.

“Community Treasure – Shared Memory” – NGO “Zhytomyr Regional Public Organization ‘Ts-TVOIE'”.

“From Pawn to Queen: Chess and a Start in STEM” – NGO “Chess Federation of Zhytomyr Region”.
-
“Step to Recovery: A Practical Comprehensive Program for Psychophysical Support, Recovery, and Community Cohesion” – NGO “Territory of Health, Beauty, and Success”.
Each of these initiatives will receive grant support of up to 50,000 UAH for implementation.
Mentorship and Support
In addition to financial aid, the winners will receive mentorship from representatives of the Board Zhytomyr business community. This support will help strengthen project management and increase social impact.
Project implementation will continue until May 31, 2026.
Organizers and Partners
The grant competition is conducted by the Zhytomyr Community Foundation in partnership with the Board Zhytomyr business community through the International Charitable Foundation “Board: Stronger Together.” The competition is implemented with the support of the National Network for Local Philanthropy Development as part of the “Resource Hub” project, supported by GlobalGiving.
