A psychological assistance project for the loved ones and relatives of missing-in-action service members has begun its work in Zhytomyr.
The first meeting was conducted by Olena Sek, a Ukrainian military psychologist and specialist in working with veterans and their families.
Main focus areas of the session:
-
Psychological assistance: Professional consultations on emotional and practical issues arising from a state of uncertainty.
-
Information exchange: Communication regarding the search for the missing and the exchange of experiences among participants.
-
Self-help tools: Working with the “Resource Jar” — a complex of practices and materials for maintaining inner strength and daily recovery.
The event took place in an offline meeting format, which allowed for direct communication between people united by shared circumstances.
The project is implemented with the support of philanthropist and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in transpersonal psychology, Cynthia Bielec McDonald.
