An orthopedic bed was handed over to a family from the village of Berezyna who lost their home and are now trying to start over.

It is necessary for the elderly man who recently suffered a stroke and underwent surgery. While he is still in the hospital, his relatives have found a different place to live and are restoring it on their own so that he has somewhere to return to.

The bed was received by the Zhytomyr Community Foundation from our Dutch partners, the Boot Development Foundation, and was handed over thanks to the care of Valentyna Maksymenko and the Zhytomyr Aid Headquarters team. They voiced the need – we had the opportunity to help.

“This is a grandfather who lived closest to the epicenter of the explosion with his wife. At the time of the incident, he was actually in the hospital – after a stroke, and later underwent surgery. The family found an old house, which they are now slowly restoring. We helped – we brought doors, and handed over an orthopedic bed from the Zhytomyr Community Foundation. They still need a commode chair, linoleum or some other flooring that won’t impede movement. The relatives are doing everything on their own. They put in windows. People are helping with materials. Therefore, any help is important.“

This is just one story. And there are many such families who need help.

We continue to raise funds for the affected residents of the village of Berezyna. Every donation is effective support for those who are in trouble.
