Systemic assistance to the military, modern equipment for hospitals, and strategic international partnerships — the Zhytomyr Community Foundation has released its annual report for 2025. Despite the challenges of the full-scale war, the organization not only maintained its pace of aid but also implemented a series of innovative projects for the community.
For almost four years, the Foundation team has been working in “marathon mode,” having started its continuous activity on February 25, 2022. As noted by the Head of the Board, Zhanna Solovyova, the organization remains a reliable link connecting donor resources with the needs of those on the front lines or in distress. In 2025, the total volume of directed aid exceeded 13 million UAH.
Military Support: Technology and Solidary
Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) remains the core focus. One of the most successful cases was the joint initiative with the Zhytomyr City Council — the “Zhytomyr Drone” project. In 2025, this initiative raised 1,744,500 UAH, which was converted into UAVs, specialized equipment, and components for AFU units.
Cooperation with local communities also played a vital role. For example, employees of the Korostyshiv City Council demonstrated solidarity by raising a total of 546,375 UAH. These funds were used for:
-
The purchase of a Nissan Navara Aventura SUV (valued at €5,500);
-
The procurement of two drone detectors for National Guard unit 3047.
Technological support was further bolstered by international partners. Thanks to IT companies Valantic, Sana Commerce, and Easygenerator, the Foundation delivered 85 laptops to defenders for operational tasks.
Medical Aid: High-Tech Solutions
In 2025, the medical direction shifted toward providing high-cost specialized equipment. A major milestone was the provision of the surgical department at the Hertchevsky Regional Hospital with laparoscopic instruments and a LigaSure system worth over 616,000 UAH. This was made possible thanks to contributions from Dave Aubie (Canada) and Oleksii Brzhezytskyi.
Additionally, with support from Global Giving, a 24-hour ECG recorder was purchased for Hospital №1. The organization Hands on Global (USA) remains a strategic partner; between 2023 and 2025, the “American grandmothers” (as they are affectionately called in Zhytomyr) delivered medical cargo and equipment worth over 6.5 million UAH.
Humanitarian Logistics and IDP Support
The Foundation’s Humanitarian Hub continues to support those who have lost their homes. The IDP Support Room at the organization’s office provided aid to over 2,500 families.
Key logistics figures:
-
150 shipments totaling over 15 tons were carried out in partnership with “Humanitarian Nova Poshta.”
-
Over 15 tons of aid (clothing, medical supplies, food) arrived from the Ukrainian community in Washington, D.C., coordinated by Natalia Zalevska.
Infrastructure and Youth Leadership
Even during the war, the Foundation finds resources for infrastructure and youth development:
-
Kindergarten №46: In 2024–2025, a project to build a modern sports ground with artificial turf was completed. The total cost was 503,000 UAH (328,000 UAH raised by the Foundation, 175,000 UAH contributed by the kindergarten).
-
Youth Initiatives Bank (MBI): A team of young leaders was formed, conducting their first grant competition and supporting 3 projects. Zhytomyr youth also represented their practices at an international exchange in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
-
Charity Sports: Cooperation with the media football team PRESTIGE was a standout fundraising tool. Four charity tournaments raised 747,615.74 UAH for the needs of the 190th and 199th training centers.

The Foundation’s reporting demonstrates high trust and resource efficiency.

Gratitude to Partners
Behind every project is the hard work of the board and team: Vitaliy Khomenko, Dmytro Antonyuk, Viktoria Kuzmenko, Ivan Tymoshchuk, Dmytro Epik, and other professionals.
Special thanks go to international friends, particularly the BOOT Development Foundation (Netherlands) and specifically Kees Boot, whose team made over 20 trips to Ukraine, delivering about 12 tons of aid in 2025 alone.
The Zhytomyr Community Foundation continues its mission. Every hryvnia, every drone, and every aid package brings us closer to victory and helps the community remain resilient.
