Night vision devices, thermal imagers, sights, metal and material for manufacturing body armor (plate carriers), generators, batteries, electronic equipment, medicines, first-aid kits and much more have already been purchased with the funds of Zhytomyr Community Fund for the support of the military and the defense of Zhytomyr Territorial Community.

“We are grateful to all benefactors: residents of Zhytomyr and friends of Zhytomyr and Ukraine for the funds that have come and continue to come to the Fund’s current accounts. Every hryvnia, dollar, euro, etc. sent is important for the common cause – victory over the occupiers. Adhering to the principle of “accountability and transparency”, we periodically publish reports on the Fund’s receipts and expenses. Thank you to each and everyone who has participated and is participating in fundraising,” Zhanna Soloviova, Chairwoman of the Board of Zhytomyr Community Fund, initiator of the fundraising campaign to support the military and defend Zhytomyr territorial community, said.

“We have announced more than once that Zhytomyr Community Fund is an official fund that we entrusted to raise funds for the city of Zhytomyr. It’s a fund that we don’t talk about much, but people are doing tremendous work. Today we received 49 very expensive night vision sights, which were purchased with the funds of this fund as well as many other things that we cannot purchase with budget funds. People trust us, we report and it’s all for the sake of victory, for the sake of Ukraine and Zhytomyr residents. Everything will be Ukraine,” said Zhytomyr Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn in his evening video message on April 1, 2022.

In total, from February 25 to March 31, 2022,  Zhytomyr Community Fund received almost UAH 11 million, of which more than UAH 5.7 million were spent on urgent needs (see picture 1 – Financial report of  Zhytomyr Community Fund on the receipts and expeses of funds for support and defense of Zhytomyr Territorial Community for the period from  February 25, 2022 to March 31, 2022).

On the second day of the war, February 25, 2022, Zhytomyr Community Fund initiated, in cooperation with Zhytomyr City Council, a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the support and defense of Zhytomyr Territorial Community. In 35 days, the Fund’s accounts received support from benefactors from Zhytomyr, various parts of Ukraine and from such countries as: USA, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Israel, Great Britain, Moldova, Poland, Azeybardzhan, Kuwait and others.
