On the winter holidays eve, a children master class on decorating ginger cookies was held in the office of the Zhytomyr Community Fund.

The participants shared what they love about holidays most. For many, New Year and Christmas are associated with comfy family gatherings, a Christmas tree, gifts, joy, miracles and goodies.

We talked about the magic of holiday baking, learned how to decorate it, what icing is and how it is prepared, played the game “Cookie Recipe” afterwards.

The children then painted their cookies, and went for tasting chatting with each other in the meantime.

Finally, boys and girls whose families were evacuated to Zhytomyr during the war, wrote their dreams, which were then glued on the Christmas tree. Among the children’s wishes there are: “To go home”, “I want the war to end so I can see my cat and grandma,” “I want the war to end as soon as possible.”
May all the wishes of our children come true!
